Superstar Krishna's Simhasanam has completed 25 years. Released on March 21, 1986, Simhasanam was the costliest period film at that time. It was made with Rs 3.25 Crores budget, a very high budget in those days in Telugu and it was the film introduced stereophonic sound to Telugu audiences.
Now, rumor is that Superstar Krishna is planning to remake the movie with his son Mahesh Babu. Speaking to reporters today (March 21, 2011) at his residence, Krishna denied such rumors.
"I heard from my son that maverick film director Manirathnam is making a big budgeted period film with my son and Tamil actor Vijay. So, I am happy with Mahesh's decision. There is no need to remakeSimhasanam as he is already doing period film set in the backdrop of royal dynasties," he added.
