Shankar's Interview abt Nanban

Translated! Thx Vijay360°

Director Shankar : I had a desire that not to remake any scripts in my career. But '3 Idiots' movie made me to break it. It all happened when we went to shoot 'Enthiran' at the Pune highways, but unfortunately the permission was denied to shoot there. We all were tensed and suddenly we went to watch the '3 Idiots' movie to relax ourselves. After entering the theatre the movie made me to forget my tensed situation and it attracted me into the story. I suddenly had a thought to remake this movie in tamil with my own production company 'S Pictures' but later i forgot about that thought as i was in a very busy mind with Enthiran. But now i feel this is the correct time to go over with the '3 Idiots' tamil remake.

Q1. Did you made any script changes for the tamil version of the 3 Idiots?

Yes, but i did only minor changes from the original script. We did not make any big changes to the script because it will affect the whole story & many people will do comparison with the original script after the film gets released. We have planned to shoot each and every song of the film in a very grand manner and we have also added an extra song to the film.

Q2. We heard that there are many characters in the film, Is that true?

Yes, First of all i must thank 'Rajkumar Hirani', the original '3 Idiots' Director. He had gave a complete entertainment to the audience with many interesting characters. Likewise i also have to follow the same script style to give a complete entertainment to the tamil audience.

Q3. Are you using any special effects in Nanban?

We don't need any big special effects for this film like the Enthiran, as this film is an emotional friendship story. But anyhow we have planned to use some special effects especially for some songs. Stanwinson Studios, The special effects makers of the mega venture Enthiran will be making the CG effects for some of the songs in Nanban too. 'Frangi Shang' of the Stanwinson Studios will be working exclusively for this.
