Rajini and Vijay – history repeats

The film industry is a place full of uncertainty. Some years ago, the tiff between Rajini and the then Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu J Jayalalithaa was the talk of the town and during the elections Rajini fans played a vital role in ensuring that the AIADMK did not return back to power.

Vijay seems to be in a similar situation now, only that it is affecting his film career in the most drastic way. The Ilayathalapathy is facing a problem over releasing his Kavalan with most theatres declining to screen the movie citing various reasons.

Further, Vijay’s father SA Chandrasekar’s meeting with the AIADMK supreme J Jayalaithaa has raised a hope that the actor may enter politics and this has his fans gearing up to lobby against the ruling party government.
