Madurai-based distributor Prabhakaran has filed a case against Shakthi Chidambaram, the producer of Vijay’s Kavalan, alleging that he has cheated him to the tune of 35.50 lakhs.
According to the distributor, Shakthi Chidambaram is yet to give him the amount for screening the Sundar C starrer Guru Sishyan but the producer has been dodging though the matter was taken to the Madurai-Ramanathapuram District Distributors’ Council.
He alleged that Shakthi Chidambaram offered him the rights of Kavalan but did not keep up the promise and neither did he pay up the amount due. This has forced Prabhakaran to file a case at
the Madurai court.
On hearing his plea, the magistrate ordered the case be investigated by the CB-CID police.
