Remake of Tamil films to Hindi and Hindi films to tamil is taking a lead in this year.
Singam is being remade in Hindi. the same way Siruthai is the remake of telugu film Vikramakurdu. Kaavalan is the remake of malayalam Bodyguard. Danush' seedan is the remake of Malayalam film Nandanam.
This year the remake rights acquired by Kollywood producers are sky rocketing as the demand is going up gradually. Director Shankar's Nanban is the remake of Hindi hit film 3 idiots. Also plans are going on to acquire the remake rights of some telugu projects.
Recently the remake rights of Dabangg has beeen acquired amidst stiff competition for a whooping sum. The other Hindi films for which the remake rights war is going on is Fashion and Band Baaja Baaraat. At the same time Hindi producers are also behind good tamil films like Singam, VTV, Myna and Uthamaputhiran.
So the give and take is happening simultaneously. The only wish is that it should be a positive sign for the growth of the industry in whole and thereby giving the chance to see wonderful films in their local language.
