The ratings remain the same as previous week with ‘Payanam’ getting to No.2 position.1. Yuddham Sei: Mysskin stands out as a winner for this weekend as well. The ‘Treatment’ is the absolute factor that makes the film more enhancing. Mysskin has captured the realistic approach of CBCID and has very well portrayed it here.
2. Payanam: Radha Mohan and Prakash Raj have always been keen on making soft breezy entertainers. But this time, they have done something far different from their previous showpieces. ‘Payanam’ has many pluses that include underplayed performance by Nagarjuna, extraordinary characterizations, screenplay and dialogues.
3. Aadukalam: Vetrimaaran’s research can be regarded as the best ever trait that has helped for the film’s success. Just as Rajnikanth termed this film as a ‘Mullum Malarum’ for Dhanush, obviously it happens to be the fact for Dhanush comes up with a surpassing approach.
4. Kaavalan: Nothing much to describe on this movie as we have constantly analyzing it over the weeks. In simple terms, we can say it’s a different movie from Vijay. Siddique deserves special appreciations for a mild treatment laced with emotions and comedy. Thanks to Vijay for being a director’s actor.
5. Mynaa: A nativity based movie with a different treatment. Prabhu Solomon has always been different in his thoughts and his style of themes has always been the best. ‘Mynaa’ is no such exception as his narrative structure and rich visuals were giving great hand.
6. Nandhalala: ‘Kikujiro’ might have been the inspiration, but Mysskin takes forth with his own style. Not alone as a filmmaker, he has done a brilliant job in terms of acting. The musical score by Maestro Ilayaraja is colossal.
7. Easan: This is one of the first ever movies to exhibit the ultimate lifestyle of Chennai across different strata. Each and every character in this movie symbolized real life personalities and it was done at best.
8. Manmadhan Ambu: Loosely based on international movies ‘Romance on the High Seas’ and ‘21 Grams’, Kamal Haasan brings forth a good entertainer. As a screenwriter, Kamal Haasan has excelled to the best.
9. Thoonga Nagaram: Director Gaurav was cocksure about getting his film on top of charts, but disappointingly, it didn’t work out due to some cliches. But, the kind of cinematography he has afforded to present the visuals and few thrill moments were intact and commendable.
10. Aadupuli: What’s really wrong with Aadhi? This could be the only question we would relentlessly keep asking ourselves. The actor showcased his brilliance over the movies during initial phases that include ‘Mirugam’ and ‘Eeram’. He is stepping down to commercial heroisms, which in no way helps him. It’s better if he sticks to the same challenging characters.
